Sarah Eva Manson’s work explores the loss and disappearance of memory, taking a critical view of social and economical transitory states of mind. She questions whether these lost memories are able to return atavistically through a manifestation of Karl Jung’s theory of cultural memory. The act of accessing our long term memory is crucial to Sarah Eva’s research as she reconstructs romantic recognisable imagery into new conceptually layered pieces. Palimpsest- Something reused or altered but still bearing visible traces of its earlier form.
